Rap and hip-hop enthusiasts are familiar with the names Badshah and Yo Yo Honey Singh from the Indian music industry. In 2006, they began their journey together with the hip-hop group Mafia Mundeer. 2011 saw them work together on the song “Get Up Jawani,” and they also wrote numerous other songs that were never put out.

But things changed between them in 2009. In a recent interview, Badshah disclosed that Honey Singh began avoiding his calls because he was preoccupied with his solo career. This caused a rift between them that ultimately resulted in Mafia Mundeer’s dissolution.

Badshah claimed that Honey Singh was prideful and overlooked the difficulties faced by the other band members. He added that they were forced to sign blank contracts by Honey Singh.

Badshah clarified that love existed in the past and that it still does. He said that although they no longer collaborate professionally and have time to meet, their love remains. This demonstrates the two artists’ complicated relationship is often characterised as rivalry and hatred which in reality is respect for one another.
