Even before filming begins, Golmaal 5 has become the subject of online buzz. With fans eagerly waiting for the next instalment of Rohit Shetty’s popular comedy franchise, recent reports claimed that the film was inspired by the classic Do Aur Do Paanch starring Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor. The filmmaker has now firmly denied these rumours.
Rohit Shetty’s production house released an official statement calling the reports false and misleading. The statement clearly said that Golmaal 5 is not inspired by, based on, or adapted from Do Aur Do Paanch, and urged media platforms to stop spreading unverified information.
The statement read, “We categorically state that these reports are factually incorrect, misleading and completely untrue. We strongly request all media houses and digital platforms to refrain from publishing unverified information.”
The production team also warned that any future news related to Rohit Shetty or Golmaal 5 must be verified through their official PR agency before publication. They added that strict legal action may be taken if incorrect reports continue to circulate and asked platforms to correct or remove false stories immediately.
The Golmaal franchise — which includes Golmaal: Fun Unlimited, Golmaal Returns, Golmaal 3, and Golmaal Again — has enjoyed massive popularity over the years. While Golmaal 5 is expected to go on floors in March 2026, details about the story remain tightly under wraps.
For now, Rohit Shetty has made one thing clear: Golmaal 5 will be a fresh story, with no connection to any classic film adaptation.
