Sardaarji took a bumper opening in the Punjab. The opening was far stronger than any Hindi film released in Punjab this year. The occupancies are a bit less than previous record holders like Jatt and Juliet and Jatt and Juliet 2 but the release is far bigger and wider which should enable it be a record opening day.
The collections in a city like Jalandhar & Ludhiana are sure to be the best ever. This not only includes Punjabi films but Hindi films also. The city will top figures of films like Happy New Year, Dhoom 3, Kick and PK.
The opening of the film is a boost to the Punjabi film industry which has been struggling over the last year or so.
