After starring in two Punjabi films (Best of Luck & Mundeyan Ton Bachke Rahin), a Telugu film and the recent Ekta Kapoor production “Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi”, Simran Kaur Mundi (Miss India Universe 2008) has been cast opposite Kapil Sharma in his debut Bollywood film.Filmmakers Abbas-Mustan were looking for a glamorous face opposite Kapil, and someone who is familiar with Punjabi. Simran, with her modelling background and her experience in Punjabi films, fit the bill perfectly. The director duo was aware of her previous work and that added to her being chosen. Says the actress, “I’m super excited to share screen space with Kapil Sharma, the current king of comedy . His jokes always have me in splits and matching his comic timing will surely be tough. But, I am looking forward to it.”
This is the first time that the actress is attempting comedy and she will start readings with Kapil soon.The film also stars Varun Sharma and Elli Avram.
