Her versatility, flair for natural performances and an urge to put a fresh breath of air in whatever role she plays, Sonia Kour has carved a name for herself in Punjabi cinema.

“I love doing what I do because it enables me to completely immerse myself in an emotion. As an actor I can embody different personalities and interpret them in my own way through acting,” says Sonia. Born and brought up in Jammu, Sonia has no family background in acting. She did her graduation from Bharti Vidhya Bhawan in Jammu and completed her master’s in public relations from the University of Delhi. After her education, she went on to become an emcee for various corporate events. With a lucky stroke of serendipity, Sonia got a chance to venture into acting in 2016. She managed to tickle a funny bone of her audience with her acting in Nikka Zaildar 1.

With her latest release, Chhalle Mundiyan starring Ammy Virk, Sonia has yet again proved her acting prowess. She has also starred in Nikka Zaildar franchise, Mall Road Dilli and endorses a couple of brands.

“Acting is a laborious job, and it comes with grueling work hours.  If you aren’t fit, it can really take a toll on you. The mantra to keep fit is to eat right and exercise,” says Sonia.

Forerunner in flaunting her washboard abs, Sonia keeps her fitness quotient at par with her contemporary male actors. Her fitness regime includes a consistent workout session and a simple home cooked meal. “I love eating ghar ka desi khana and try to include a lot of fruits in my diet. I make sure to take at least 90 grams of protein every day,” the actress adds.

Sonia’s upcoming movie, Akal De Anne scheduled for release at the end of the year or starting of 2023, and she looks forward to doing some interesting roles and movies in future. Her plans include going south and scouting for some projects in Hindi cinema.
