    EVENT CINEMAS OUTLINE IMPACT AND
    RESPONSE TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Due to the Government’s closure of indoor venues as a response to the public health risks
associated with Coronavirus for both customers and staff, all Event, Birch Carroll and Coyle,
GU Film House and Greater Union Cinemas will temporarily close from today, 23 March 2020.

In Australia, as a result of the closure and in order to presewe as many jobs as possible for
the future, Event Cinemas will temporarily stand down the majority of cinema employees
from Friday 27 March until the end of May 2020, and will assess the situation again at that
point in time. During the stand down period, employees are able to draw down on annual
and long service leave, and negative annual leave balances will be offered. Unfortunately,
periods of leave without paY for some employees are inevitable.

Luke Mackey, Head of Entertainment Australia for Event Hospitality and Entertainment said:
“The impact of Coronavirus is unprecedented and significantly affecting a large part of the
economy, including our cinema businesses and the substantial safety requirements enforced
by the Australian Government has given us no alternative but to temporarily close cinemas
and the State Theatre. This decision was not taken lightly and was only made after we could
no longer guarantee the safety and wellbeing of our staff and customers which has always
    been our first priority.

“By implementing the stand down, we are aiming to retain as many jobs as we can during this
period. We have offered staff the option of drawing on annual and long service leave, and
negative annual leave balances will be offered if required. We are committed to working
openly and honestly with our people during this time, supporting them in the very best way
we can. We look forward to reopening with a strong blockbuster film line.up, and return to
employing staff tn the local communities in which we operate.”

All customers who purchased tickets during the closure period will be automatically refunded
    and receive email communication.
