Actor Akshay Kumar and his wife Twinkle Khanna were involved in a road accident on Monday evening shortly after returning to Mumbai from a trip abroad. The couple was travelling from the airport to their Juhu home when the incident took place.
According to reports, a speeding Mercedes hit an auto rickshaw, which then crashed into a vehicle from Akshay Kumar’s security convoy. The impact caused the security vehicle to hit the actor’s SUV.
The accident happened near the Silver Beach café in Juhu.Thankfully, no one was seriously injured. The auto rickshaw driver and a passenger were briefly trapped under the security vehicle. Eyewitnesses said Akshay Kumar immediately stepped out of his car and, along with his staff, helped lift the auto and rescue the driver and passenger.
A source said that there was a lot of chaos at the spot as many people and media personnel were already present in the area because spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was attending an event nearby.An eyewitness described the moment as frightening but added that it was a relief that everyone involved was safe.Akshay and Twinkle had just returned from an overseas trip, where they had gone to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.
