Watch or Not? In over more than two hours, the film manages to to patch up its hovels and vindicate the negatives quite effortlessly. Goes without saying that Ksshithj quite succeeds in sending us home with many heartfelt laughs and an extensively enjoyable time.The pulsating chemistry of Binnu Dhillon and Kavita Kaushik makes this one a hard to miss indulgence of sorts!
Synopsis : Vekh Baraatan Challiyan is the story of Jaggi, a bus conductor and Sarla, a student who belong to two different communities. Whilst Jaggi is a Jatt Sikh from Punjab, Sarla is a Hindu Jaat from Haryana, however, despite the cultural difference, the two fall in love and decide to get married. But, Sarla’s father who is a strong believer in astrology lays down the condition that the two can marry only if their horoscopes match.
This is where problem arises, the astrologer discovers that Jaggi is a Manglik and informs Sarla’s father that if the two marry, his daughter will either die or suffer from health issues throughout her life and the only way to save their marriage is Jaggi marrying a bitch first. Jaggi agrees for the marriage and a series of comedic events ensues.
Movie Review : Director Ksshitij Chaudhary is back with the enjoyable narrative which he is know for his previous flicks like jatts in Golmaal & mr. & Mrs 420. Movie revolves around a couple & obstacles which they faced before marriage.
Star performances :
Binnu Dhillon what a fine acting by him. He has proved again that he can do any kind of role.his chemistry with Kavita Kaushik is amazing. KK who is well know for her character Chander Mukthi in serial FIR. In her first attempt in punjabi cinema she delivered a very fine performance.
In short role ‘Ranjit Bawa’ is impressive. His next ‘Bhalwan Singh’ is scheduled for 8 September release.
Jaswinder Bhalla in role of jaggi’s father is as-usual brilliant as he had earlier. In role of bus driver karamjit anmol will laugh u loudly.
Finally just before climax you will see Amrinder gill onscreen as subey Singh. You will fall in love with him. He looks stunning in Haryanvi character.
Ksshitij Chaudhary has delivered a good family entertainer. It’s tough to maintain the chemistry of two languages on screen. But he handled the subject so well. In climax movie becomes bit confusing but it couldn’t be ignored as product in whole is enjoyable.
Story is by Naresh Kathooria a which is famous for his comic scripts. You usually see him acted in almost movies which he has written before but in this movie you will miss him on screen.But surely you will his writing on screen with loud laugh.
Movie has very strong social message in the climax, that human emotions are above than so called rituals. dialogue by Amrinder gill ‘ agar koi nibhane Pe a Jaye to sari Umar nibha sakta hai, will remind you to think humanity is above than any religion. Hats off to makers for such a beautiful message along with a good entertainment.
Music : Movie has good melodious music.Background by Gurcharan Singh lifts the movie to next level.
Final words : VBC is a wholesome family entertainer, Perfect match of Punjabi & Haryanvi. Go & enjoy your weekend with ‘ vekh Bharatan challiyan’.
