Veteran Actor Mukul Dev Passes Away at 54

Actor Mukul Dev, known for his impactful roles in Hindi and Punjabi cinema, passed away on May 23 at the age of 54. He had been unwell for several days and was admitted to the ICU, where he ultimately succumbed to his illness. The actor is survived by his brother, fellow actor Rahul Dev.

Mukul Dev carved a niche for himself with notable performances in films like Son of Sardaar and the 2012 Punjabi hit Burrraahh. His versatility across genres and languages earned him a loyal fan base and respect in the film industry.

Vindu Dara Singh, who shared screen space with Mukul in Son of Sardaar, confirmed the heartbreaking news to India Today. “After his parents’ death, Mukul was keeping to himself. He wouldn’t even step out of the house or meet anyone. His health deteriorated in the last few days and he was in the hospital,” he said. “My condolences to his brother and everyone who knew and loved him. He was an amazing person, and we will all miss him.”

Apart from his contributions to Bollywood, Mukul was a prominent face in Punjabi cinema. He appeared in several popular Punjabi films such as BaazHero Naam Yaad RakhiShareek, and Munda Faridkotia, showcasing his range and deep connection to regional audiences.
