Trailer of Ardaas (2016) is out & It’s promising

The trailer of the much awaited Punjabi film Ardaas is out now and the public reaction has been very positive since the moment it was published.

Many people have commented on the link with a sigh of relief that this movie will be a change from the market flood of comedy movies.

Ardaas marks the directorial debut of the Punjabi mega star Gippy Grewal. In Punjab, where life in rural households is in a state of disarray, Ardaas will provide a positive outlook to those who are downhearted by their day to day problems. By the end of the movie, there shall be smiles of hope and confidence on the faces of those who at the back of their minds are still worried about their next meal or the birth of a girl child.

Just as Rajesh Khanna was a sigh of relief for the Sharma family in 1972 film Bawarchi, Gippy Grewal’s Ardaas will also provide comfort to many aching souls.

An amalgamation of various short yet true stories, Ardaas shows the true face of life in the darker dungeons of rural Punjabi households.

With Gurpreet Ghuggi playing a very strong character in the film, this one will surely be a game changer for many artists who till now have only been seen in a comic role.

Punjab’s very well known singer Ammy Virk will be seen as a village boy who aspires to become a renowned singer. His attempts for releasing his song generally go in vain. His love interest is being played by model turned actress Isha Rikhi who has done a fairly good job in terms of acting. Their journey of love turns precarious when families turn hostile.

Mandy Takhar who is generally characterized as a fashionable upmarket girl in most of her films will be seen in an entirely unique portrayal in this one. She will be seen donning the look of a rural Punjabi woman who is married to the son of an army officer.

The man known for his edgy cinematography in films like Jag Jeondeyan De Mele, Mirza The untold story, Hero naam yaad rakhi and Faraar is back in action.

The trailer for is out now and I am sure that Gippy’s debut directorial will bring about a positive change in the way films are made in the Punjabi industry as he’s of the firm belief that films must entertain but also leave something behind with the audience.
