The makers of Jaswant Singh Khalra’s biopic approached the High Court

After bringing national and human interest stories like ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, ‘Sonchidiya’, ‘The Sky is Pink’ and ‘Rashmi Rocket’ to the screen, R. S. V.P Films are waiting to show another real life drama.

It is a biopic of renowned human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Abhishek Chaubey and Honey Trehan. The film is directed by Trehan and has actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh in the lead role, while the title of the film is yet to be decided.

An industry source said that the makers have been waiting for the censor approval for the release of the film for six months. According to him, ‘R. S. V .P.’ applied for the censor certificate in December 2022 and it was sent to the review committee. The team shared all the necessary paperwork requested and went through the process diligently but c. B. F. C. After not getting any solution from the Supreme Court, finally approached the Bombay High Court on June 14.

Sources added, “The Jaswant Singh Khalra case is back in court but this time the hearing for the censor certificate will be held on July 4 and Amit Naik, he is also leading the Khalra biopic legal team.”
