Watch or Not? This murder-mystery is a decent one time watch
Synopsis : It’s a story set in the early 90’s in a remote village somewhere in Punjab, revolving around a police officer, Kuldeep Singh, popularly referred to as “SAAB BAHADAR” by everyone in the village because of his sensibility, reputation and respect. Kuldeep has a flair for reading mystery novels which inspire and perform his duties vigilantly. Another interesting aspect in Saab Bahadar’s life is that their Police Station is on rent in a house owned by a beautiful young girl, who is an aspiring dancer. Saab Bahadar witnesses an interesting comic tiff with the land lady, who doesn’t want the police station in her house. The story finally takes a turn when a series of crimes start taking place in a rather peaceful village.”SAAB BAHADAR” is all about unraveling the mystery behind repeated crimes.
Movie Review :
Star Performances :
Ammy Virk has done brilliant job again in role of police inspector he looks good on screen. But all other to notch actor’s are almost wasted in movie. Credit for the same goes to director’s unprofessional approach towards film. Nothing much to do for ‘preet kamal’ in movie. why she is in movie that is also a point to think?
Direction, Editing and Screenplay :
Written by Jass Grewal and directed by Amit Raj Chadha, This murder mystery is derailed specially by director. Without regular songs in movie, Film looses it`s grip after some minutes.
Cinematography impresses in the beginning with all those aerial shots. but when the screenplay is week Camera Man can’t do any wonder.
Music : Background of the movie is pathetic. It doesn’t flow with movie, Some times a loud tunes would disturb your ear’s too.
Final Words : Overall, Saab Bahadar is a good attempt which is almost wasted by director. It still remains a decent one time watch. Specially if you are fan of Ammy Virk. I am giving 2.5 + 0.5 (Additional 0.5 for maker’s encourage to make a movie on this murder mystery)
