Very rare does punjabi industry witness meaningful projects. By meaningful, we focus on the genre comedy vastly.
“Maa Da Laadla” was one such project which was highly awaited. Not only the audience but even the starcast had found a comfort in the story. Starring Tarsem Jassar and Neeru Bajwa in the lead, this movie’s trailer had got a lot of attention after its release. Neeru Bajwa had herself taken to her instagram to reveal how she fell in love with the project the day she heard it.
Well, the movie is out and we have our review for you.
Movie Review:
The movie is a typical drama comedy which excites you at moments and gets you emotional at some too. The movie revolves around Sehaj(Neeru Bajwa) and Gora(Tarsem Jassar) Neeru is a single independent mother who lives with her son Kevin. She tries to provide fully for him but fails to fill in the presence of his father. Tarsem on the other hand is a struggling actor who lives with his grandmother (nirmal rishi) in Ifftakhar thakur’s house on rent. He has been running tight on finances and also has taken alot of debt from the market. Now, them both will find solace in each other and at the end of the movie a very beautiful lesson unfolds.
Roopi Gill is enacting as Tarsem’s friend who he has borrowed money from. Naseem vicky is the best friend who’d be picking him out of troubles every now and then.
The movie has been directed by Uday Pratap Singh who has very beautifully bought the story to life. We must say, UK and its typical houses have been very beautifully captured and clubbed in a project.
The background score by Kevin Roy is a cherry on the top for the movie. Its picking up what feels low at points.
Overall, it is a good family drama to watch for the weekend. You’ll walk out of the halls with a good lesson and eventually fall in love with the star duo. Tarsem , for sure , deserves a headup as this character of his, has completely transformed our approach towards him.
