Movie Review: The Punjabi movie released in cinemas today, ‘Lekh’ is a love story based on Class 11 commerce students; Rajvir, played by Gurnam Bhullar and Ronak, played by Tania.
In the movie, Rajvir is shown making some attempts to sit with Ronak in a school bus, which mostly turn out to be unsuccessful. Later he tries asking Ronak out to watch the film ‘Mel Karade Rabba’,then discussing very random things just in the hope to make a conversation with Ronak.
Later on in the film, the teenage bonding is beautifully shown, where both the love birds are then separated from each other.
But here comes a twist, after a decade, Rajvir and Ronak cross each other’s paths and confer about what they’ve experienced in the years passed by without each other.
This movie is written by Jagdeep Sidhu, and it’s an excellent masterpiece, where the movie not only provides the audience with the entertainment but also gives us all some precious life lessons.
Talking about the songs of the movie, all the songs are created by the famous music director B Praak and the lyrics are written by Jaani. This duo has left a remarkable impact through the songs of this movie.
Now talking about the actors; Gurnam Bhullar, the male lead, has played his part immaculately, perfectly portraying both the roles associated with two age groups.
Tania, the female protagonist has also done justice to her role. Her acting in the movie is quite splendid.
Saabi, Ronak’s friend, is played by Harman Dhaliwal, and he has also given an impactful performance.
The movie ‘Lekh’ is helmed by the debut director, Manvir Brar and he’s done quite a good job as a first time director.
Now, talking about the only flaw in this movie; the pace of the film after the interval is very slow and hence, certain some parts of the movie are not very engaging.
Needless to say, the prominent writer, Jagdeep Sidhu and the debutant director, Manvir Brar have done an excellent job on their part and ‘Lekh’ is truly the perfect example of the new age writing in the Punjabi Film Industry.
white Hill Studios (Gunbir Sidhu & Manmrod Sidhu )who are the producer of this movie, whole credits to them for picking something unique in punjabi cinema which will remember for long time.
