When we talk about actors in pollywood, very few count amongst the intelligent ones. Very few have the knowledge to use cinema in a potential way. Jagjeet Sandhu’s project ‘River Island’ was up in the headlines since a while now for numerous reasons with foremost being its concept.
Bringing his vision to life, Jagjeet Sandhu has released his first short film as a director, ‘River Island’. The former was a very intellectual approach to the cinema since short films have gained the pace amongst audience lately. The project has been bankrolled under his own banner, Popkorn Pictures. This shall be his first experience whole and sole as a director, producer and actor.
The project stars Pardeep Cheema and Pooja Brrambat along with Jagjeet Sandhu in the protagonist ally. Audience had risen the bar of expectations with the poster. His look was appreciated since then and we were excited with the experiment he was going to bring forth.
What begins as a scenario from Punjab 2060, the movie basically revolves around a homeless poor man, who robs people by stopping them on the highway’s and then asking water as ransom from their family. A very strong message to save water has been bought about i an very clean and beautiful manner.
More than Jagjeet Sandhu’s acting, we would like to applaud his effort and vision to bring forth such a simple project with this varsity and depth. Exhibiting the scarcity of water in a way, where you’re moved out of your seats and forced to think wether you’re working the right way for the future.
The direction has been very beautifully justified. Each and every scene from the desert and every emotion reflecting on the camera is justifying for itself.
Well, the movie surely shall put your mind and habits in the right direction.Team Punjabi Grooves extends a heartiest congratulations to Jagjeet Sandhu for his remarkable efforts.
