After a long time, a Punjabi movie has actually witnessed theatres full. Getting audience to the cinema had become a big task lately. The Gippy Grewal starrer “Yaar Mera Titliyaan Warga”, which hit the silver screens on September 2, has turned out to be a big hit in india & overseas. This amazing rollercoaster of comedy has been doing well at theatres and is expected to break Pollywood box office records. The exact figures for this magnum opus should be out soon.
The drama entertainer opened to an overwhelmingly positive audience reaction particularly in Punjab. Several shows in Punjab were sold out throughout the first day.
YMTW is directed by Vikas Vashisht. Smartly written by Naresh Kathooria, the project is a daily life refurbished drama. Gippy Grewal is bankrolling the project under his banner Humble Motion Pictures in association with Omjee Star Studios. The film has Gippy playing the lead role with Tanu Grewal paired opposite him. The rest of the star cast includes Karamjit Anmol , Raj Dhaliwal and others.
Gippy has been receiving an amazing response for the experiment he has done with himself as ‘Gurmail’.Not only the dialogues but also the intellectual approach of the team towards the selection of the star cast has satisfied the critics. Tanu Grewal, who had been at the vulnerable end because of the expectations linked to her post the trailer release, has proved it to the cinema that she is here for a good l0ng time.
Karamjit Anmol is always a delight to the heart and this time his character had layers which we enjoyed. Raj Dhaliwal has put a stop to all the critics who thought her time was over. The other supporting cast also added to the flavours of the project.
The background score and songs had the audience already glued.Many of the movie’s songs had been making their space in the reels and shorts since their release and are still individually running well too
The revenues have been very steady through the entire first week and with no other doing equally well, we believe the movie would continue to rake it in.
