Dinesh Auluck Welcomes Punjab Government’s New Incentives for Film & Media Sector

Punjab Film & Media Committee Chairman Dinesh Auluck has welcomed the Punjab Government’s announcement of new incentives and subsidies for Punjabi films and web series, describing the decision as a significant and much-needed boost for the creative industry.

Expressing gratitude to the Punjab Government and the Chief Minister, Auluck said the Punjabi film fraternity had long been awaiting such supportive measures. He termed the initiative a progressive step that will encourage growth and investment in the state’s film and media sector.

Auluck also appreciated the announcement made by Industry Minister Sanjeev Arora and Invest Punjab CEO Amit Dhaka, stating that the policy brings renewed optimism for filmmakers, producers, and artists across Punjab. “This initiative will motivate creators to produce more Punjabi content while helping promote Punjab’s rich culture, language, and talent at a global level,” he said.

Under the newly introduced policy, the government has announced capital subsidies of up to ₹10 crore for film studios and film cities, along with financial assistance of up to ₹3 crore for the production of films and web series. According to Auluck, these incentives will play a key role in attracting filmmakers to shoot and develop projects within Punjab.

He further acknowledged the government’s broader industrial incentives, which include 125% incentives and rental subsidies for IT/ITES and GCC sectorsup to ₹50 crore incentives for healthcare institutions and medical collegescapital subsidies of up to ₹5 crore for tourism infrastructure, and up to ₹50 crore incentives for higher education institutions.

“These initiatives will strengthen multiple sectors and generate new employment opportunities across the state,” Auluck added. He also reaffirmed that the film industry remains committed to supporting the government’s vision by producing quality content that not only entertains audiences but also showcases the vibrant culture and spirit of Punjab.
