Deana Uppal who is well known in modelling industry, hails from UK, is coming up with sensitively investigated documentary based on ‘ Gaddia Lohar’ community.
From respected forgers of armour for Hindu kings in the 16th century through to impoverished nomadic blacksmiths who forge and sell items from waste metal scraps.The history and story of India’s proud but largely forgotten Gaddia Lohar community is for the first time sensitively investigated and revealed in Deana Uppal’s documentary ‘India’s Forgotten People’ Deana said in her official Facebook post.

Gadia Lohars (also known as Gaduliya Lohars) are a nomadic community of Rajasthan, India. They are also found in the Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh. They are lohar (ironsmith) by profession who move on from one place to another place on bullock carts, which in Hindi are called gadi, hence the name ‘Gadia Lohar’.

Gaddia Lohar is directed by Deana Uppal, while it’s produced by DKU Productions, penned down by Deana Uppal, Akbar khan and Tanvi miglani.
Famous DOP Richard Blanshard that has worked on films like mission impossible and judge dredd has come on as the executive producer.
Deana also seen in punjabi movie ‘Hard Kaur’ her work in movie was critically acclaimed. also has directed punjabi music videos which were hugely accepted by audience.
