Criminal’s makers know exactly how a thriller should be done. The trailer is out and we had goosebumps while even watching it. Thrillers come with a baggage of having logic because they aren’t the typical punjabi plots that will require to put your brains on pause before watching, so was Criminal’s trailer. Resonating exactly with it’s title, this dark drama has a lot to unravel.
The amount of twists and turns, unparalleled performances by everyone and the beautiful usage of background score throughout. Once you’re watching the trailer, you’ll skip your heartbeat multiple times, forget about taking a break!
Produced by Big Daddy Films and Gippy Grewal, the project , from scratch is Gippy’s mind and soul. Talking about the cast, Gippy Grewal is the mastermind when it comes to picking up the finest for his vision. He has surely used his intelligence and thought process very smoothly while finalising the cast for this particular project.
Beginning with the leading lady, Neeru Bajwa who has got us shook yet again. We knew she is finest of an actor, but her versatility and maturity towards her character has got us speechless. There could be no better choice than her of course. Her character graph is solid because she’ll gain your sympathy and at the same time will amaze you with her bold charm towards the end.
The best of Prince Kanwaljit’s career, without any doubt. Mind you, he has some outstanding performances in movies like Warning, Maa and more , but Criminal has risen him up to a another level. This movie shall prove the point of why someone like Prince Kamwaljit has still not got his due in Pollywood.The same applies for Raghveer Boli. He talks through his eyes and discreet mouth actions and very cleverly shifts his gears from being furious to being moody in a single scene.These two actor’s have our standing ovation, already.
Dheeraj Kumar has been given less screen presence in the trailer but we are looking forward to him. Amongst others, Sukhwinder Chahal, Harbhagwan Singh, Gurnav Deep Singh, Shivam Sharma and Kavi Singh are being seen in pivotal roles.
Directed by Garinder Sidhu, the intensity of the emotions, namely fear and other’s has been very beautifully captured to life.It also proves one thing why no high budget and location is required when you’ve such a strong script in hand. Usually, thriller’s employ heavily expensive graphics and locations but the makers have very beautifully executed the whole project amidst the proximity of four walls , which again is appreciable.The direction has given the project a vibe which is surely not Pollywood.
The trailer is hard to get into a nutshell or produce in a one-liner. It begins with Prince Kanwaljit’s intense self coming out of jail threatening the surroundings. He then, along with his crew, consisting of 4 convicted criminals escape the police van and land up in Neeru and Dheeraj Kumar’s flat which is in an isolated building. The crew takes over their flat and awaits when the family shall be home to, most probably kill them. Less do they know, they are already inside watching them. Towards the end of the trailer , we see the family has caught eye of the criminals and the major drama now begins. Neeru tries to escape them along with dheeraj Kumar but its unfolding slowly. We guess the movie shall provide more to the curosity.
The film is all set to hit the theatres on September 23rd. This is one project which has expectations and eyes of many towards it as this might raise or break the door to experimental and dark genres in punjabi industry.
