Director : Shagufta Rafique

Starring : Kartar Cheema, Jashan Singh (Debut), Sakshi Gulati, Gulshan Grover, Yashpal Sharma, Savita Bhatti ,  Sukhwinder Sohi, Mohit Sharma

What’s good: The story & dialogues

What’s bad: Stretched second half

Watch or Not? In over more than two hours, the film manages to patch up its hovels and vindicate the negatives quite effortlessly. Goes without saying that Shagufta quite succeeds in sending us home with many heartfelt emotions and an extensively enjoyable time. The pulsating chemistry of Kartar and Jashan makes this one a hard to miss indulgence of sorts!

Synopsis : Naren Singh Maan is a young man from Chandigarh. He loses his entire family in a brutal terror attack planned by Pakistani terrorists. Lonely and angst-ridden, he travels to Bangkok for a job as a waiter in a 3-star, where he meets Kareem Usmani, a Pakistani national who is hired in the same hotel as a security officer. Full of hate and anger, Naren is forced to live with his worst enemy who later turns out to be his only friend, philosopher and saviour as the story unfolds. Will Naren forgive Kareem for the deeds of those who tread on evil paths? Will he hold on to his hate? Or will he choose the path of mercy and forgiveness is the bedrock on which this tale of love, hate and brotherhood is told.

Movie Review:

Star Performances: Kartar picks up a role perhaps quite different from what he seems to be and plays it to perfection in every frame. It is quite a challenge for an actor to master what isn’t his forte and kartar is genuinely flawless in this role. On other side Debutant Jashan singh is also impressive, in almost a silence role he manages to impress audience. In short role Sakshi gulati is ok.

In Negative role ‘Gulshan Grover’ at his best, this role of him will remind u of his golden time period in Hindi cinema. Yashpal Sharma is barely visible for just 1 scene.

Direction, Editing and Screenplay: The director (Shagufta) strikes a fine balance between humour and emotion in this Emotional story..

Editing – The duration of the movie is far to stretched in the second half of the movie.

Music is decent

The Last Word – Dushman is a film. Made by heart, It will not disappoint you
