Angrej took a very strong opening recording the third highest opening ever for a Punjabi film in East Punjab for a Punjabi film after Sardaarji and Jatt & Juliet 2 while the All India collections were the fourth highest ever after Sardaarji, Jatt & Juliet 2 and Punjab 1984.

The all India collections were 1.15 crore nett appx making it the sixth film to cross the 1 crore nett mark though business is at higher levels now with Sardaaji crossing 2 crore nett. It is the highest opening ever for a film not featuring Diljit Dosanjh in the main lead. The film grossed more than double the new Hindi release Drishyam which fared very poorly in the circuit.

Angrej should consolidate over the weekend and go on to do very good business as early reports are positive for the film.Read complete movie review here
