Yoodlee Films to make foray into Punjabi cinema with Amrinder Gill

The well renowned ‘Yoodlee Films’,  a part of Saregama India, will be venturing into the Punjabi film industry,  it announced. Before this, Yoodlee Films has also produced works in both the Marathi and Tamil film industries.

The very first production in the Punjabi cinema will have the famous actor, Amrinder Gill as the lead role and it will be directed by Simerjit Singh. This project will be out in cinemas in the year 2022  This forthcoming film will be jointly produced by Yoodlee Films and Simerjit Singh Production in association with Rhythm Boyz.

Amrinder Gill is exhilarated to collaborate with Simerjit Singh after a long span of over six years. He also exclaimed that their last film ‘Angrej’ was a huge success and thus, he is looking forward to working with him. Gill said that he is also very  keen to work with Yoodlee Films.

Simerjit Singh acknowledged that expectations would be obviously high as the movie ‘Angrej’ was the fourth highest grossing Punjabi film of all time and also the second highest-grossing Punjabi film in the year 2015. Singh also said that these are the exciting times to make a movie to be given to the global audiences as we have access to and after the difficult times we have all faced with the global pandemic.

Siddharth Anand Kumar, VP, Films, Saregama, said that their entry into the Punjabi film cinema is ushered  by firm research on the commercial value of such a venture, and the courage they derive from the valued  experience of their first partners, Karaj Gill and Simerjit Singh.The executive also expressed that Punjabi film industry has a lavish remunerative history, and according to them, they are just poised at the right moment to make an appearance here. He is looking forward to the film opening to audiences in cinemas next year.
