Time flies off…Time passes by…Time will heal…When the time will come, everything will be okay…Time…Time…Time and Time…See, Time plays an important part in every individual’s life which gives equal importance and value to every human being. And this goes very true for the Punjabi Industry’s one time favourite actress, Kimi Verma who used to be the first choice of that time Directors, Producers and of course the actors too.
Kimi Verma, who hails from Ludhiana, Punjab, did her schooling from Punjab and then she moved to Mumbai and did her MBA from Mumbai University. As somebody has said, that there are very few people for whom the destiny plays a vital role, they usually get everything they wish and long for.And this truth goes very true for Kimi Verma, who won the titles of Miss Bombay and the Femina Miss India Beautiful Hair, when she was doing the modelling and we saw her in lot of TV Commercials like, Sunsilk, HSBC, Clinic Plus, Liberty, Nescafe etc. She was a spokesperson for Ponds Institute and Skin Care for India and Egypt.
I will not be wrong in saying this, that the best day of her life would have been the day, when she was spotted by our famous Director, Manmohan Singh, and at that time she was doing her 10 th . This was time when her filmi career started, and she was offered a title role in movie, “Naseebo”. This was her first movie which she did while in school and her first stint in acting turned out to be a very successful movie which was liked by one and all, and not only in India but in Canada too. After Naseebo, I am sure she didn’t look back, and gave beautiful movies with a meaningful messages like, Qahar, Khoon Da Daaj, Shaheed Udham Singh, Jee Aayan Nu, Asanu Maan Watna Da, Sat Sri Akal, Mera Pind My Home, Ik Kudi Punjab Di and Ajj De Ranjhe. We can say that, Kimi actually reigned the Punjabi Industry by doing so many Punjabi Movies being an important part of every movie she did.
She moved to Los Angeles in the Year 2002 but kept doing Punjabi Movies while she was there. Kim’s dream became the reality she envisioned as a child about running a Global fashion house for women’s dresses. She is the founder, designer and CEO of SHAIL K. women’s special occasion dress brand. Shail K. dresses are sold in many countries around the globe including US, Canada, UK, Australia, Romania, Lebanon and many more. She is well settled in Los Angeles now.
I am sure she would love to be part of our Punjabi Industry again if our Present day Directors approach her for the right role. She was the queen of the Punjabi Industry of her times coz it was her face we used to see in the maximum number of Punjabi Movies.
