Ratings : ** (2/5)

What’s Good: The zone in which  Simerjit has executed this film to be in, some quirky dialogues at times & presence of such so called stellar cast.

What’s Bad: Mostly the screenplay, sluggish editing &  numerous just-for-the-sake scenes.

Watch or Not?  We Indians are a very curious breed of cinephiles, we need an answer for everything happening on screen without any further await & if you’re not one of such people then you can watch the movie.

Synopsis : It is a biographical feature film on India’s Highest Wartime Gallantry Award – Param Vir Chakra winner Subedar Joginder Singh. He fought three wars (as per records) for India before achieving martyrdom in the Sino-Indian War of 1962 while commanding a platoon in North Eastern Frontier Agency (NEFA) (Now Arunachal Pradesh). The story portrays his character and motivation in the scene of battle. (As Published by production house on Village Cinems)

Movie Review : Subedar joginnder singh is an attempt to portray the life of our national hero on-screen.

Star Performances :

Gippy Grewal delivers an just above average performance in role of subedar, body language of subedar is missing in his character. The part Roshan Prince has played, justifies with his character. In short role Aditi Sharma was decent. Loveleen Kaur Sasan as Bachan Kaur was impressive. Some debuts in this movie but Kulwinder Billa & Rajvir Jawanda will surely impress you. Jordan Sandhu is an average affair. Karamjit Anmol who is an fine actor but almost wasted in this movie for just sake of comedy.

Guggu Gill’s ok at his part. In short role Harish Verma shows his acting ability like he can do any type of role.

Direction, Editing and Screenplay :

Director Simerjit Singh’s attempt to portray the life of Subedar Joginder Singh on-screen will not keep u engaged till climax of movie. He is known for his comedy clicks, he has earlier tried a different genre like this titled ‘chak Jawana’ which was also an average film. Main problem in this movie is it`s screenplay, Yes I am again saying screenplay, Simerjit and Raashid Rangrez have written the story and the screenplay of the movie. Raashid Rangrez who is known an art director when you will give the responsibility of writing to an art director what would be a result is in front of you. Additionally, editor Bunty Nagi who is also responsible to drag this movie on screen.

Overallwe can say the whole scenario of movie is like that when the main concerned team decided  “Chalo BORDER nu punjabi ch baniye”.  As most of the scenes in movie will remind you the J.P. Dutta’s blockbuster hit ‘Border’

Music : Music of the film was composed by Jay K (Jassi Katyal), Jaidev Kumar & Gurmeet Singh.None of the track was an blockbuster hit which can add advantage to movie. Background by Amar Mohile is also an average affair.

Final Words : Overall, Subedar Joginder Singh has been a very disappointing experience , some average performances, Feeble screenplay add to the misery of the film.
