Director : Rohit Jugraj

Starring : Diljit Dosanjh, Sonam Bajwa, Monica Gill, Jaswinder Bhalla

Review ** (2/5)

Run Time : 146 Minutes

Synopsis : This story begins in a village in Punjab, where an organic farmer named Jaggi (Diljit Dosanjh) lives the simple life. But one day, Jaggi’s village finds itself in deep trouble. Jaggi has no choice but to travel to Australia so he can earn money to save his village. Jaggi’s quest to earn money quickly turns into a wild ride when this man of principals starts driving a beautiful ice cream truck which is beloved by children, gets chased by goons, and meets an equally hot-tempered girl. He even kidnaps another girl from her own wedding! The craziness never stops with Sardaarji 2.

Movie Review : The market for regional films is growing every year, driven largely by an enthusiastic overseas audience. A good chunk of this NRI market is made of Punjabis, known for their exuberance and an eagerness to keep in touch with home. This is one reason why we now see many popular singers — from Diljit Dosanjh and Gippy Grewal to Honey Singh, Raftaar, Baadshah, and many more — trying their luck in acting as well. Their albums and films inevitably feature foreign locations and bank upon the idea of patriotism. The same is the case with Sardaar Ji 2 too.

Diljit and Gippy escalated their game by featuring in full-length Punjabi films, and very soon they will be making their debuts in Bollywood as well: Gippy in Second Hand Husband, and Diljit with Shahid Kapoor in Udta Punjab.

Given their stardom, it was only natural to look forward to Rohit Jugraj’s Sardaar Ji. But, is it as easy as it sounds? Let’s find out.

Star Performances : Sardaar Ji is completely dependent on Diljit Dosanjh’s stardom, and he doesn’t disappoint. But the film loses its sheen somewhere in the second half. Monica gill is fresh and it’s good to see such actresses on screen who look like normal women and not like another size zero model. Sonam Bajwa looks good on screen, But she has to learn a lot when it comes to acting.

Diljit Dosanjh is brand ambassador of leading soft drink brand for punjab region, Scenes which are displaying that soft drink brand are forcefully added in movie.

Direction, Editing and Screenplay : Dheeraj Rattan’s story opens on a fine note, but fails to sustain the momentum it built after the first 10 minutes. It is predictable and moves at a slow pace, especially when the premise shifts to Australia . Plots get repetitive after a point, and the jokes stale.Rohit Jugraj has good command over direction but this movie is far away to be called a good film.

Music &  Background : Songs are forcefully added in movie. Only two songs in movie which audience will remember when they will come out from cinema. Background by Salil Amrute lifts the film to different level.

Final Words : Diljit is a star, but where’s the story? There are so many flaws in movie but overall if you are die hard fan of Diljit Dosanjh then you can watch this movie.
