Along with web-series, another avenue that actors are exploring in that of regional films. We have seen that Sargun Mehta is now a leading lady in Punjabi films and Kavita Kaushik also did a film in the industry year. The latest actor to make his debut in his home state is Anas Rashid. We know him as Suraj Rathi from Diya Aur Baati Hum. Anas was on a break ever since he got married in September 2017. Now, he has begun shooting for a Punjabi film, Nankana where he is the parallel lead. The big news is that he will be working with legendary Punjabi singer, Gurdas Maan. It is supposed to be an unique love story. As we know, the massacre that took place at Nankana is one of the significant events in the Sikh history. The brutality is regarded to be same as that of the Jallainwalah Bagh Massacre. The gurudwara of Nankana Sahib is in Pakistan. He is not alone in the film. TV actress Kavita Kaushik whom we know as Chandramukhi Chautala from F.I.R is also with Anas in the project. The news was revealed by TellyChakkar.com and they confirmed the same to the news website. Anas’ told the portal, “It’s a nice story and I would like to tell everyone to go to the theatre and watch it once it will be released.” His co-star and well-known TV actress Kavita stated, “I can’t reveal much about it. All I can say is it’s a very prestigious project and I am having a great time shooting here in Punjab. Gurdas Maan Sahab is a legend and its an honor working with him.” It seems the film with release in April 2018.
